Some SSG10 owners reported a slight cylinder wobble which can be fixed with this glidering. However, only a very small percentage of users were affected. If you’ve never experienced a wobbly cylinder, there is no need to get the gen2 glidering.
The difference from the Gen1 and the Gen2 ring is the second step in diameter and tighter tolerances.
